Assemble!
I was hanging out with a friend of mine. Just talking about our summers, plans, getting acquainted and reacquainted.
Never undervalue the importance of being able to have a person with whom you can bounce ideas off of.
So hanging out, I got another idea.

His Story
I met another Tony the other day as I walked along the Lake. He had immigrated here from Holland. Had four kids and 6 grandchildren. He was working on restoring this spot by the Lake. It reminded me of a few things.

I met Tony when I took the cab home from a Baseball game that I was covering for the University paper.
We were in the same car for maybe 15 minutes.
But he was one of those people. You know? One of the few that without reservations will share their story.

My very dear friend and one of my absolute role models, Wesam, won’t be coming back this year.
It’s made me think a lot about relationships and friends. I definitely do think that it’s possible to be good friends and being half a world away. The world IS a smaller place every day.

Purple it Up
I go to Queen’s University. I’m a student in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering.
We’ve got some of the coolest and oldest traditions. On more than one occasion, especially during this week, students wish they were us.

Queen's Residences
Every year about a week before classes begin: first-year students begin to move-in.
Every student in a Queen’s University residence has a “don”. They are upper-year students who are not just resources, they are friends.
(I’m lucky to know quite a few dons whom I never hesitate to bother.)
The staff here is absolutely amazing. Sleepless nights, long hours.
